Desperate Hunger

This project was inspired by the two works below by René Magritte in 1928. I started by recreating the first painting. I used characters that I had made in another project, covered them in simulated cloth, using Marvelous Designer, and placed them in a box that matched the one seen in the painting. From here I decided to expand the environment and include other characters using a frame structure like the one in the second painting. I created this piece in April 2020, and I wanted it to reflect the isolation and divide that people were experiencing during the strict shut down and quarentine period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
